Before and After – Apartment Organization

When you live in a small space, it is all the more important that you find a way to both minimize AND organize. This client had the BEST attitude and energy, which made organizing for her such a dream. She was ready to listen, ready to de-clutter, and took direction like a champ. Her charming apartment is simply adorable, and now SO much more functional!

Moving the matching bookshelf from the bedroom to the living room helped balance the wall and create a designated “zone” for books and resource materials.

With the bookshelf moved from the corner of the bedroom, there was now space for the coat rack. Instead of being bombarded by a pile of winter gear right as you walk in the door, the coat rack is now sittin’ pretty back in the corner, devoid of excess coats, hats, and scarves. Where’d all those things go, you ask?

They went into the closet, where they belong! Coat racks should be utilized for your current coat, hat, and scarf… not every single coat, hat, and scarf you own! Keep the bulk of these winter accessories in easy to reach open bins on a shelf in your closet.

The bathroom in this apartment had no drawers and minimal cabinet space, so this nearby closet needed to increase in its functionality. We ladies need our beauty products, amirite?! These 3-drawer systems are great for brushes, combs, hair accessories, make-up, you name it! And of course I had to utilize my most favorite organizing tool, the Lazy Susan, to house a variety of other beauty products like hairspray, lotion, and shampoo.

No matter how big or small your home may be, a little organization will change your life!

What’s next on your organizing to-do list?

Happy organizing 🙂
