Book Review

I feel like I’m seeing and hearing about this book EVERYWHERE!

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo

Which is really exciting, because this book has changed a lot about the way I approach organizing- for myself and for my clients!

The first thing I put into practice is the method of folding clothes in my dresser drawers. This is just one of the few organizing methods that blew my mind: Fold and stack your clothes vertically.

Wha?

Yeah, vertically. Think of it like a filing system.

Normally, people fold their clothes, make a stack, and shove said stack in their drawer. This way you only see the item of clothing on top.

But when you fold and “file” your clothes, you can see ALL OF THEM at a glance!

As soon as I read this section of the book, I dropped what I was doing and approached my dresser drawers:

Note: It takes some practice in re-learning how to fold your clothes to where they’ll fit vertically in your drawers. But once you get the hang of it, it’s life-changing.

And why stop with your dresser drawers? Try this method with table linens, towels, and even packing a suitcase.

I’m excited to share more of my thoughts on this fun organizing book! Until then,

Happy organizing 🙂
